Since the subject of Superman has recently been brought up on this blog and I really don't have the energy to think too hard for tonight's question, I'll stick with that subject.
Richard Donner directed the 1978 Superman starring Gene Hackman and Christopher Reeve. This was followed in 1980 by Superman II, but something wasn't quite right about Lex Luthor. What happened to make Lex not quite the same in Superman II?

I'm going to guess it was played by a different actor. But thats all I can come up with.
I never really liked the Luthor character in the Reeves Superman movies. He just seemed like a bumbling idiot.
As far as I remember, Gene Hackman was the only person to play Lex (in the Reeves movies), so...
I'll guess "They didn't put a bald "wig" on him... they left Hackman's natural hair on."
That's probably not even close.
I don't remember S2 very well, but I do know that there were some issues with the director. Richard Donner either quit or was fired and was replaced with someone else. Did that person make changes to the Lex Luthor character?
