Vandelay, I'm not sure if you are trying to be funny or if intent wasn't clear, so I'll assume you are serious and explain away.
The song lists several things followed by the line "these are a few of my favorite things." By replacing the period after that phrase with a colon, I was implying that the favorite things were in the next line and thus Julie Andrews likes biting dogs, stinging bees and feeling sad.
